Sahibabad: Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC) hosted an Indo-Russian delegation as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between India and Russia. The event focused on promoting education, well-being and global collaboration.
The delegation included Marina Volkova, founder and president of the International Charitable Foundation “Give Love to the World”, Elena, chairperson of the Indian Russian Compatriots Society, and team members Ekaterina and Zhanna Semenova.
The programme began with a welcome address by Vibhuti Shankar, vice-president (international relations), who highlighted the long-standing bilateral ties between India and Russia. He said the institute is strengthening its global presence through international partnerships, academic exchange programmes and joint initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Agarwal, vice-chairman of the institute, stressed the importance of human values and the “happiness quotient” in education. He said balanced emotional well-being along with professional excellence is essential for the overall development of students and institutions.
A discussion session was also held on women’s rights, gender inequality and issues related to youth. Representatives from both countries shared their views and emphasised the need for research-based solutions and stronger community participation.
The event was attended by Dr. D.K. Sharma, Dr. Amit Jain, Dr. Sunita Yadav and Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, along with several heads of departments, who also discussed possibilities of academic and research collaboration with the visiting delegation.
The institute management expressed confidence that the initiative would strengthen Indo-Russian academic ties and open new global opportunities for students.
