Venkateshwara Hosts Grand Opening of ‘Global HR Meet & Placement Drive–2026’; 422 Students Advance to Next Round

Meerut: The two-day ‘Global HR Meet & Placement Drive–2026’ commenced on a grand note at Shri Venkateshwara University, located on the National Highway bypass, bringing together over 100 leading companies from across diverse sectors.
The event was inaugurated by Founder Chairman Sudhir Giri, Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Acting Vice-Chancellor Yuvraj Singh, and Registrar Prof Piyush Kumar Pandey, who jointly lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the summit.
On the opening day, more than 50 institutions and companies from sectors including information technology, management, healthcare, dairy and food processing, pharmaceuticals, and nursing services participated. Through panel discussions, written assessments, and personality development sessions, a total of 1,200 students appeared for the selection process, out of which 422 candidates qualified for the next round of interviews.
The drive witnessed participation from prominent organisations across healthcare, pharma, engineering, agriculture, export houses, and food industries, who also shared insights into talent acquisition and the evolving expectations from future professionals.
Addressing the gathering, Sudhir Giri highlighted that skilled Indian youth have immense employment opportunities both in India and abroad, emphasizing the need for continuous upskilling in line with national and global market demands.
Dr Rajeev Tyagi noted that while several parts of the world are grappling with conflict, India is तेजी advancing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, driven by research, innovation, and skill development.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Yuvraj Singh stated that such HR summits and placement initiatives play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, creating substantial employment opportunities for students.
Registrar Prof Piyush Kumar Pandey informed that over four dozen reputed companies are expected to participate on the second day of the drive, further expanding placement prospects for aspirants.
During the event, HR representatives from participating organisations were felicitated with mementoes by the university administration. The programme witnessed the presence of deans, faculty members, HR heads, and a large number of students.
